Selective Laser Melting of Fe-Based Metallic Glasses With Different Degree of Plasticity

Abstract Selective laser melting (SLM) is one of the promising techniques for producing metallic glass components with unlimited geometries and dimensions. In case iron-based glasses, appearance cracks remains a problem. this work, two alloys Fe 48 Mo 14 Cr 15 Y 2 C B 6 (Fe 0.9 Co 0.1 ) 76 4 (P 0.45 0.2 Si 0.15 20 , differing in their plasticity, were printed double stage scanning strategy. Both characterized by fully amorphous structure crack grid that coincided hatch distance first scan. Segregations metalloids observed vicinity cracks. samples high compression strength 1298 ± 11 MPa zero plasticity. The was 142 22 MPa. results obtained suggest further development strategies research on influence alloying elements needed.
